Make your voice heard at the RUC election
RUC's ordinary election 2013 was called on 19 September. Make your democratic influence count and influence your university in the direction you want it to develop, by standing for election or by casting your vote.
"It is important to stand for election and to cast your vote in the RUC election in order to exercise the influence it gives to affect the university's development," says RUC's Rector Ib Poulsen.
RUC's ordinary election 2013 was called on 19 September and you can announce your candidacy until 30 September 2013. The voting will take place between 21-27 October.
Possibility to exercise influence at all levels
"The students are up for election to each of the bodies. From the Board of Directors to the study boards for the individual subjects, so as a student you have the opportunity to influence your university at all levels," explains Ib Poulsen.
Bo Oddsønn Sættem, who is a lawyer at RUC and who, among other things, manages RUC's election office, also emphasises that it is important to cast your vote in the RUC election.
"If you do not wish be participate on the collegiate bodies yourself, it is important to vote where you think it will have the greatest positive impact on the issues that concern you," he says, and stresses that the University Act ensures that staff and students have the right to participate and be consulted on important decisions.
