Managing Director of CBS Learning Lab, Professor Hanne Leth Andersen, new Pro-rector at RU
Hanne Leth Andersen who is Managing Director of CBS Learning Lab and Professor of University Pedagogy with special focus on communication is joining Roskilde University as new Pro-rector
The 48-year-old Hanne Leth Andersen holds an MA (1990) as well as a Ph.D. degree in French (1997) from the University of Copenhagen. For 13 years, she served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor (2007) at Aarhus University and held management functions such as Head of Studies, Associate Dean and Head of Centre before she was appointed Managing Director of CBS Learning Lab at Copenhagen Business School in 2009.
Ib Poulsen, Rector at RU, is pleased to have Hanne Leth Andersen on board:
- “The pro-rector vacancy notice at Roskilde University sets out that the Pro-rector will be responsible for the field of education in particular, and considering Hanne Leth Andersen’s professional and management qualifications, there is no doubt in my mind that RU will get an excellent pro-rector who will be able to spearhead the continued development of RU’s educational profile, but also enter into a constructive and developing collaboration with the rectorship and in relation to the Board of Directors. I am very pleased that Hanne Leth Andersen has accepted the job as Pro-rector at RU,” says Ib Poulsen.
During her career, Hanne Leth Andersen has written numerous articles printed in Danish and international publications within didactics of languages, university pedagogy and educational research. Most recently, she published surveys of the views of pupils, students and teachers on the role of grammar in foreign language teaching in Dansk Universitetspædagogisk Tidsskrift (the Danish university-pedagogical journal).
Moreover, Hanne Leth Andersen’s career comprises membership of several committees under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Danish Ministry of Education, the ACE Denmark and Rådet for de Gymnasiale Uddannelser (the council for upper secondary education programmes). Thus, Hanne Leth Andersen has promoted a research network for didactics of languages under the Danish Network for Educational Development in Higher Education (DUN), and she is also heading a cross-university project about internationalisation of programmes focusing on learning culture challenges in the encounter with multi-cultural student groups. Recently, she was chairman of a project group dealing with languages at upper secondary education level within the framework of the Danish Ministry of Education.
Hanne Leth Andersen is looking forwarding to working as Pro-rector at RU:
- “RU is a university where students are active participants and where working methods, educational methods and principles create knowledge, critical and analytical skills, interdisciplinary in-depth studies, collaboration and creativity, which are RU’s special characteristics among Danish universities; I look forward to helping maintain and further develop these characteristics. I hope to be able to increasingly contribute to profiling RU as a university that provides new, critical, interdisciplinary perspectives on the public debate and in relation to the challenges we are facing, nationally as well as internationally. I look forward to working on ideas development and sound-boarding, but also on specification, completion and evaluation of new initiatives. I am looking very much forward to the work”, states Hanne Leth Andersen.
Hanne Leth Andersen takes up the position as Pro-rector at RU on 1 October.
