General Picture of China Education Development in the Perspective of Educational Planning

Abstract
Since the mid 1980s, contemporary China Education has entered its new era. The central government of China has issued national educational policies and development plans, pointing out the directions and roads for the educational development. The most important policies are those named The Decision on the Reform of Educational System issued in 1985 and Outline for Reform and Development of Education in China issued in 1993. The former particularly affirmed the urgency of educational development, and stated that the educational contents and methods "should be in line with local conditions". The latter put forward the new general goal in the new period from planned economy to the socialist market economy. And today, China is now making its Outline of Long and Medium Term Planning of Educational Reform and Development in China, which will set its goal for the educational development till 2020. The presentation will tell you a general picture and focus of China education development in the perspective of those important national policies in education.
