There are two things that are important when you wish to protect yourself against virus:

1. The latest security updates must be installed  
2. Antivirus software must be installed and have the latest signature files.
   
   

As a student or employee at RUC, you can download and install a version of Sophos' antivirus program for free. This software may only be used on your own private computer. Antivirus programs on RUC's computers must be installed by your local IT support. You should also note that you are obligated to uninstall the software from your computer at the end of your studies or employment.

It is important that you first uninstall any existing antivirus software on your computer, before you start the new installation.

To ensure that the terms and conditions are complied with, a record is kept every time an employee or student downloads the software.
