Access to RUC's IT systems after end of studies or employment

The Rectorship has decided on a new email policy, which will become effective from 1 July 2013. Below, the new rules are specified along with the conditions that will apply to employees and students who are no longer at RUC.

  • Student's licenced access will be closed immediately after end of studies
  • Students will have 6 months after end of studies for transferring emails and files from the servers, after which their accounts will be closed
  • Academic staff employed on a permanent basis and all administrative staff will have their RUC accounts closed at the end of employment
  • Part-time academic staff and PhD students will have 6 months after end of employment for transferring data and getting a new email address established
  • Only emeritus and adjunct academic staff can get alumni status with regard to keeping access to the IT systems

The new rules means that previous students who have achieved alumni status will have their accounts closed on 1 January 2014. Students who have graduated before 1 July 2013 will also have until 1 January 2014 to transfer data and get a new email address established for their contacts.

Academic staff employed on a permanent basis and all administrative staff who have ended their employment before 1 July 2013 will lose their access to the systems on 1 January 2014. PhD students and part-time academic staff who are no longer employed as of 1 July 2013 will also have their accounts closed on 1 January 2014, unless the employment is recommenced before.
