What to do after end of studies or employment?

When you end your studies or employment at RUC, your account for the IT systems will be closed. Different rules apply to staff members and students.

Students

When you end your studies at RUC, you will get an email saying that you no longer have access to the licenced systems such as the free antivirus software, use of ordbogen.com, and access to the library's publication databases from home.

After this, you have 6 months to transfer your data before your account will be closed, and during this time you can set up an autoreply informing that you can be contacted on another address. See the guides below.

Academic staff (VIP) employed on a permanent basis and all administrative staff (TAP)

When you end your employment as an academic staff member (VIP) employed on a permanent basis or administrative staff member (TAP), you will get an email informing you that your account will be closed. If it turns out to be a mistake that you are no longer employed, you must immediately contact helpdesk(at)ruc.dk.

You will be able to transfer your private data to other systems, but this should be done before end of employment. You also have the option of setting up an autoreply, but in that case you should contact helpdesk(at)ruc.dk to make arrangements with regard to the duration of the autoreply, see the guides below.

PhD students, part-time lecturers and teaching assistants

When you end your employment as a PhD student, part-time lecturer or teaching assistant, you will get an email informing you that your account will be closed six months after the end of your employment. This means that you have plenty of time for transferring your data and you can set up an autoreply with information about your new email address, see the guides below.

If it turns out to be a mistake that you are no longer employed, you must immediately contact helpdesk(at)ruc.dk.

Emeritus and adjunct academic staff

As emeritus or adjunct academic staff you will automatically be granted alumni status after end of employment. I.e. your account will not be closed and you will keep your access to all of RUC's IT systems, apart from any administrative systems.

If you have any questions with regard to ending your studies or employment and the transferring of data, feel free to contact helpdesk(at)ruc.dk.
