Why is Webmail so slow?
RUC's mail server can sometimes be overloaded. This happens typically around noon on the first days of the week, when most people read their mails. This is partly due to the fact that some users have configured their mail program, eg. Outlook or Thunderbird, to check for mail at intervals that are far too short. We recommend that in-coming mail be automatically checked every 10 minutes.
In addition, the fact that Webmail is slow may also be due to the fact that your inbox is too big. It takes a long time to generate the page if there are too many mails. Therefore, we recommend that no more than 500 mails are stored in the inbox and that mails be moved from the inbox to subfolders, for example according to their content.
Note that you can't sort your emails in Webmail, if your inbox has over 500 messages.
