If you use VPN (Virtual Private Network), you get a secure and encrypted connection to RUC's network. You get a RUC IP number when you establish the connection. This has several advantages:

• You have more access through Plug'n Study with VPN than without.
• From your Internet connection you get an encrypted connection from your PC to the VPN server at RUC, because your traffic is transported in an encrypted tunnel.
• When you use an internet connection with short login time (e.g. hotspots), your VPN tunnel keep your connection active for a longer time.
• You can to some extent gain access to systems that are otherwise only accessible from the campus, for example remote access to all of RUC's library databases.

The VPN-system is only for students and employees at RUC. Be sure to comply with the relevant licensing conditions. Contravention will lead to immediate closure of the account.

If you have installed the previous VPN-client (Cisco VPN client) it is recommended to uninstall it.
