Research at Department of Culture and Identity is characterized by a broad humanistic profile centered in a number of focus areas within the fields: Philosophy, History, Cultural Encounters, Literature, Media and Linguistic.  

Other than the research done within each field, the Department’s research is characterized by supplying and further development of a number of cross-disciplinary views and approaches. Transnational and -cultural studies with Nordic, European and global perspectives are a cross-disciplinary research-approach which includes several of the Department’s academic fields.
