Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation
Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation is based on the research group METRIK and the research is based on a wide number of external financed projects with many collaborators from other universities, local authorities, organisations and companies – national as well as international.
The area of strength makes its research within planning, adjustment and innovation which can contribute to the fossil free energy supply. It is focusing on development of new plan system and ways of regulation which may support the establishing of increased renewable energy. The main research fields deals with utilisation of bio mass for energy purposes (here included especially bio gas), energy efficiency, sustainable construction, wind energy and sustainable transport. Within this area the research is interdisciplinary and includes both natural scientific, technological and social scientific aspects of climate change adaption and mitigation. Researchers are also involved in work with strategic energy planning and with development of methods and concept for municipal climate change adaption plans. The research involves development projects with specific solutions and wider research projects focusing on readjustment of socio technical systems.
The researchers play an important role in making the climate strategy of Region of Zealand, in the development of green transport solutions and in the preparation of climate and energy plans of a wide range of local communities and of development, planning and establishing renewable energy.
