Mobility and Urban Studies
Mobility and Urban studies is based on the research group MOSPUS which has a strong international status. Within mobility, the group is contributing to research in commuter traffic and mobility management, tourism and culture economy, and mobile communication. This is connected with research on urban life, exposed urban areas, urban innovation and city planning which has cooperation relations to the area Working Life and Health Promotion. The research in tourism is part of the Centre for Experience Research in cooperation with the Department of Communication, Business and Information Technologies (CIBIT) and in the development of a culture scientific centre based on the Roskilde University cooperation with a line of museums (RUCMUS).
The area of strength addresses the social problems such as racism, exclusion, homelessness and unemployment, from metropolis to remote areas; cultural phenomena such as tourism, museums and cultural heritage; and the material artefacts of everyday life and technological systems within media and transport and within a united spatial transformation of aspects. The research takes place through a focused interdisciplinary approach which makes it possible to move across geography, sociology and planning.
Mobility and Urban Studies is included in a line of projects in cooperation with museums, destinations, associations for occupants, housing association, neighbourhoods, local authorities, regions and companies within an area which has great public attention in Denmark.
