Working Life Studies
Working life studies focus on the work as a vital human activity and the working life is a very important part of your daily life. Explanation in terms: The stimulating work, the borderless work, working environment, family-friendly workplace, the active employment policy, integration at the place of work, equality, workplace learning and communication, involvement of the employees and personnel management/ human resources management.
Geography
Geography is an academic science subject about the outside world. It illustrates the spatial process on a local, regional and global level on a cross-curricular basis of society and nature. At RUC the subject Geography combine knowledge from social science, natural science and the liberal arts in research and teaching. Master students will be able to understand, describe and analyse spatial contexts between the fields of research: Political, social and economical processes in relation to the conditions of life. What is the significance of geographical representation and cultural processes of identity and conditions of life? What impact do the natural geographical processes have on life on earth?
Environmental Biology
Environmental Biology – or Ecology – basically deals with interactions between living organisms (i.e., animals, plants and micro-organisms) and their physical, chemical and biological surroundings. In other words, Environmental Biology is primarily about how populations of animals, plants and micro-organisms are distributed in nature and, not least, what regulates their distribution.
Planning Studies
At Plan, Town and Process planners are trained to contribute to creating life and social multiplicity in the towns, to focus on strategic plans and democratic plan processes, revitalize marginalized town and areas of land as well as creating significant changes in mobility and patterns of settlement through decisive analysis and creative design of plans and the process of plans.
Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Promotion and Health Strategies
Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Promotion and Health Strategies combines various perspectives of the understanding of Health and starts by defining the term in a wide sense, i.e. the dynamic understanding of Health where body, mind and environment are connected. By health means the interaction between the individual, biological inheritance, life style, living conditions and the contribution from the environmental and health service.
TekSam - Environmental planning
TekSam focuses on technological and organizational development in production and consumption which are of consequence to the environment, working life, living conditions and nature, and social conditions generally speaking.
Problems concerning pollution, transportation, resources, working environment and living conditions can be studied - locally, national or international.
