12 September Lecture of accession

Invitation to lecture of accession

Ole Hartling MD will hold a lecture of accession as adjunct professor at Health Promotion at ENSPAC 

             Thursday 12 September at 1 pm in Geofagsal in building 02


after the lecture there will be a reception at 2 pm in the canteen in building 02.

The title of the lecture is: ”Sundhed eller sundhedisme”.

“Health is an immeasurable condition and therefore it must be preserved at any price – whatever it takes! Pursuing health can become an –ism, i.e. a health-ism and these terms go way be-on any scientific foundation and can affect humans and humanity. This health-ism has a religious dimension where illness is weaved together with guilt and sin and punishment, and people become victims. If people’s lifestyle and behavior is reprehensible – they will be rejected!”

Ole Hartling was born in 1946 and became a doctor in 1972, MD in 1986 and has since then been employed as executive consultant at Department of Clinical Physiology at Vejle Hospital. Besides his work at Vejle Hospital and his biomedical research, Ole Hartling is known for his extensive authorship and involvement within the medical ethical field. He has hold a number of positions of trust, e.g. "Lægeforeningens etiske udvalg", "Amnesty International Danish group of MDs", "The Danish Council of Ethics" (as chariman), "UNESCO’s National commission", "UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee" and chairman of the board for the Danish Institute for Human Rights.
