13-14th of May 2011, Roskilde University
The fifth Post-Keynesian conference at the Continent will be organized as a joined cooperation between the Université de Bourgogne, Roskilde and Aalborg University. The first four bi-annual conferences have been hosted by Université de Bourgogne every second year in December organized by Claude Gnos and Louis-Phillippe Rochon. This time we will try another time (May 2011) and another place (Roskilde, Denmark – close to Copenhagen).
We have chosen two main themes for the conference:
- European economic crises in Keynesian perspectives
- The General Theory after 75 years – the embryo revolution in macroeconomics
Keynes made a prediction in a letter to George Bernard Shaw, dated January 1935 ‘that I am going to revolutionize the way we think about economics not immediately, but within the coming 10 years’
Call for papers
The conference be hosted by Roskilde University, Denmark in cooperation with Aalborg University, International Economic Policy Institute at Laurentian University, Canada and Université de Bourgogne, Dijon
Major conference themes will be:
- Post-Keynesian theory & methodology,
- Financial fragility
- European economic crises and demand lead growth
- Teaching Post-Keynesian Economics.
At the 75th anniversary of John Maynard Keynes’ General Theory we may ask our selves, what have we yet learned from his insights, and what new theoretical developments are needed for a more comprehensive understanding of reality. Moreover understanding of the European economic crises, the meltdown in the financial markets and the global recession have made teaching Post-Keynesian Economics more relevant than ever, and therefore a call for Post-Keynesian textbook materials are in urgent request.
Submission of papers in the above mentioned and related areas are encouraged; but other relevant themes will also be considered especially in the form of a full conference session (3 papers and chairman):
Suggestions of paper (300 words synopsis) and session (3 papers) should be send to the organizers not later than 1st February 2011. Accepted papers and sessions will be announced 1st March 2011. Full papers are to be submitted by 1st May 2011. (date), and should be sent on (date) thereafter they will be available on Kienet.
