The instructions below tells you how to install an institute printer on your computer. Please read the full instruction before proceeding to installation.

Go to the web address http://popper.ruc.dk/ipp and click the printer you want to install. Printers are named after their location, ie. 25-2-032-p1-P4015x is located in room 032 in building 25.2.

If you get the message "The iPrint client is not installed. Do you want to install it now?", click "OK" and follow the instructions. Installation of iPrint client requires restart of the browser (browser=Internet Explorer, Firefox etc...) When the browser is up and running again, start over by going to http://popper.ruc.dk/ipp and click the printer you want to install.

If you are asked to log in, just use your normal RUC username and password.

Printers installed as described above will have names containing "popper.ruc.dk", e.g. "25-2-032-p1-p4015x on ipp://popper.ruc.dk" or "\\ipp://popper.ruc.dk \25-2-032-p1-p4015x"

Printers with names like "ROSKILDE_UNIVERSITY \25-2-032-p1-p4015x.PRINTERS.VIII.RUC" or "25-2-032-p1-p4015x.PRINTERS.VIII.RUC on ROSKILDE_UNIVERSITY" will not work.

In Windows 7 Internet Explorer must be run as administrator in order to install printers. Open the start menu, then "All Programs" and right click "Internet Explorer". Select "Run as administrator" and click "Yes" in the following dialogue box. Then install client and/or printers as described above.
