Academic IT (AIT) offers guidance to all employees at Roskilde University wishing to know more about effective usage of new technologies in teaching, research and professional communication.

It is the aim of AIT to help faculty apply information technologies in an useful way. We tailor courses for projects, research teams, courses and other matters. We also provide guidance, professional discussion and technical support to all who wish to start using IT in research, teaching and communication.

  • We provide help to get started with RU´s e-learning systems, Moodle and Mahara.
  • We run RU´s podcasting-service including recordings of lesson plans, demos, presentations et cetera.
  • We offer advice about choosing and using IT-tools for various purposes.
  • We offer advice about pedagogical usage of IT.
  • We showcase examples of the usage of IT in research, communication and teaching.
  • We communicate news and new tools at http://ait.ruc.dk/.


Academic IT is unique among Danish universities in that innovation, continuing education, research and support is merged into one unit. In our practice, our research, and our innovative work, we emphasize user participation and make it a point of departure in dealing with specific problems.
