Moodle and Mahara

Online teaching activities consist of teaching activities based on the use of the internet, and are used to support the learning process of the students within a specific didactic and pedagogical framework.

Online teaching activities allow for a flexible approach to teaching and learning, and the learning space can be extended to include new learnning activities.

Get some inspiration, and see descriptions of pedagogical scenarios - see: Online teaching activities - research based teaching.

Moodle at RU

Moodle is a tool for adding online teaching activities to courses. It has potentials far beyond just archiving and sharing files.

At moodle.ruc.dk disciplines and faculty get the opportunity to expand the pedagogical space. In addition to the conventional teaching activities requiring presence, it is possible to add online resources and activities. You get the chance to activate the students between the classes and make them active partners in the teaching process.

Moodle facilitates setting up a frame/a course website with features such as, :

  • Provide information to the students (News Forum)
  • Upload presentations and other documents for the students.
  • Make data (texts, links, pictures, video, etc.) available to students.
  • Let the students hsubmitand in assignments and receive feedback.
  • Initiate online teaching activities e.g. discussions, quiz, wiki´s, glossary, etc.
  • Organize online group work within the course.
  • Access user guides - see: Moodle guides.
