The supervisor as examiner
This seminar aims to shed light on the supervisor’s process of preparing for and conducting oral group exams. This will be done through a combination of presentations, cases and discussion and based on the new Ministerial executive order for exams.
The course prepares the participants for the shift in status from supervisor to oral examiner: from being their guide and supervisor to being their examiner and from supervising them in a group, to conducting and examination of the individual student? How does one manage the formal requirements for the role as examiner in relation to the students and the external examiner? How does one manage conflicting expectations, exam anxiety and disagreements between the examiners? How are the criteria underlying the final assessment interpreted and weighed? These are only a few of the questions that will be addressed in this seminar.
