Visualization of the pedagogical space
A morning with presentations on the visual dimension of pedagogical activity and interaction.
When we find ourselves in a learning environment and we are part of the learning process, there is always a visual dimension present. We interact with the physical space, we interact with things (books, equipment, computers etc.). We interact with each other and with our own creations. We do things with our body, we write on the blackboard and on paper, and we show and demonstrate many things to each other visually.
There is a visual dimension to all of this, which may be maintained photographically, cinematically or in drawing. The visual media (photo, film and drawing) form a testimony of aspects of the pedagogical process, which may be involved and reflected on somewhat more than is the case today. At, this is the hypothesis. The visual dimension also contains a special form of knowledge: visual knowledge. This form of knowledge is difficult to translate into words, but it can be displayed and communicated through visualization.
The course poses a number of questions: can we involve the visual dimension and visualizing media more deliberately than in traditional practice? Participants are invited to participate in a visualizing learning experiment: to explore the visual dimension of university teaching, self-instruction/supervision, and in the learning environments for which we are responsible. What happens when we consciously try to cultivate the visual dimension?
The course will also set the stage for further work on the subject to be carried out in the individual departments in the form of workshops.
