At Environmental Biology the students are taught to understand the basic biological/ecological theories and to be able to use these theories to solve practical problems related to the nature.

We work with experimental accession with the use of chemical, biochemical and biological analysis methods and with descriptive studies, statistical data analysis and interpretation of biological data on the basis of a solid biological knowledge.

Teaching method

The teaching at Environmental Biology consists of a combination of lectures, lab courses, PC exercises and project work. Furthermore RU has its own field station “Søminestationen” situated at “Isefjorden” where many field trips have been held. Besides that we co-operate with various external collaborators national as well as international, which gives the opportunity of a lot of exciting projects. The teaching is held in relatively small groups of students, so that the student to a great extent is involved actively in the teaching.
