Answers
How do I complain about the teaching?
If you are displeased with the teaching, a project or a course, you have the possibility to complain. We would however first recommend you to contact your counselor or the course teacher to solve the problem among each other. Most issues are dues to misunderstandings, and most teachers are interested in solving the problem and are therefore open to criticism. It is also possible to ask the student counselor for help to solve the conflict.
If the conflict cannot be resolved, it is possible to complain about the teaching to the Study Board who are responsible for the teaching.
Is it possible to study two subjects ouside of my bachelor area?
No. At least one of the subjects in which you are graduating has to be within the same main area as your bachelor study.
Is it possible to start studying Informatics before I finish my introductory bachelor courses?
Yes.
You should however be aware that this does not apply for the graduate studies. It is not possible to study any graduate studies before you finish your bachelor’s degree.
Yes. If you started your master’s degree programme after February 1st, your master’s thesis have to complete your master’s degree.
Find further information about exam rules in Eksamensordning for uddannelser (DANISH).
Should I study one or two undergraduate subjects?
Only few subjects offer you the opportunity to study one subject. Informatics should always be studied along with one other subject.
Find further information about the rules and the possibilities of combining subjects in RUC's combi book (DANISH).
Is it possible to take a course or study a semester at another university?
Yes. It is possible to take a course or study at another university if you have documentary evidence that the courses are relevant for your study. Read more about studying abroad at our pages on exchange or by contacting Morten Hertzum (if you consider studying at a Danish university).
The short answer is yes.
A more detailed answer is that you have to pass the qualifying course before you finish your bachelor’s degree. This means that you can start at Informatics without having taken the qualifying course and follow it during your time of study. We do however not recommend this as, during the bachelor module, you are expected to have the qualifications given by the qualifying course.
You can however apply for dispensation if you can provide documentation for others courses or if you have the same qualifications which the qualifying course gives you.
