Occupational Aim

The Master's program in Social Entrepreneurship and Management will enable graduates to serve as consultants and managers of social innovation and facilitators of entrepreneurship in private and public enterprises as well as in NGOs. The program will especially provide students with expertice on social value creation within institutional settings such as sustainability, education, local community, poverty reduction, integration and social service. Typical tasks will be to lead and develop processes of social entrepreneurship and enterprises as well as to facilitate innovation in and between various sectors of society. Also, a certain proportion of the candidates would be expected to set up and run social enterprises on market terms as the program includes achieving skills in business planning, social and financial accounting and resource mobilization. These candidates will not only occupy already existing jobs in the labor market, but themselves establish new businesses thereby creating new job opportunities. 

Competency Description for the Master's Program in Social Entrepreneurship and Management.

SEM is an international graduate program at RU and is composed of 4 modules, each of 6 months duration. Study activities at RU are evenly divided between project work and courses. In the project work the students work independently with problem-based projects and with academically related issues. Thus, graduates from RU are characterized by their experience in applying the skills required to tackle a specific problem.
