Study environment at Social Entrepreneurship and Management
As a student at PAES you enter both a professional and a social community. Each semester approximately 500 students from Psychology, Educational Studies, Social Entrepreneurship and Health Promotion, participates in lectures, education, does group work and have their breaks in building 30. Students across the four programs share desks, kitchens and study areas which allow you to create relationships, not only within your own education program, but also across the programs. The environment is also characterized by open doors that create a closer relationship between researchers and students.
Project groups are an important part of the learning environment at PAES. We know from experience that the project teams provide the best constructive learning processes and the best projects. But they are also of great importance for the social study environment at the institute. Each of the programs establishes a group formation committee at the beginning of each semester, which in cooperation with the semester supervisor organizes and coordinates the group formation process.
In addition to the many academic perspectives and angles that are going to affect your everyday life, we emphasize that the students participate in creating a stimulating and activating frame for the study environment. Students are encouraged to establish a café committee that can arrange (academic-) cafes, Christmas and summer parties etc. In these committees you have the opportunity to influence your program and the Institute. Everyone is encouraged to participate in academic events that are held at the institute.
If you are a graduate student, a number of ‘thesis seats’ are available at the institute, where students have the opportunity to establish thesis networks with other graduate students with both academic and social sparring and co-coaching. To hear more about this opportunity, contact the Candidate Secretariat.
