Students who start writing their thesis this autumn semester will fall under the new rules for writing thesis. These rules means that a 30 ECTS thesis is nominated to 5 months and a 60 ECTS thesis is nominated to 10 months. In that connection regular submission deadlines are introduced. If the students do not hand in before or within the deadline, they have used one thesis attempt and will start a new thesis attempt.

At the head of study meeting, it was recommended to take the discussion of how a supervisor is able to make the right settings for a thesis, so that it is possible for the student to complete the theses within the standard time limit.

Furthermore it is important to be aware of the fact that if the student has started a new thesis attempt, the supervisor must in connection with the new thesis contract, approve a modified thesis statement and time-frame.

Request for particular examiners for the thesis examination

When the supervisor signs the thesis contract, the supervisor must at the same time give three requests of examiners. It is the supervisors responsibility to contact the secretary responsible for the procedure of the thesis Therese Mosekjær Lund, if they subsequently which to change the requests of examiners.

The procedure has been agreed with the head of study. The procedure is made to make sure that it is possible to arrange an oral examination within four weeks after the thesis is handed in.
