About the Doctoral School of Culture, Language and Philosophy
The Doctoral School of Culture, Language and Philosophy provides the framework for the PhD programme at the Department of Culture and Identity (CUID). Founded on the main disciplines of the humanities – history, philosophy, literature and linguistics – the school has a strong humanistic profile, inviting interdisciplinarity and innovative research. The doctoral school is divided into four PhD programmes:
- European Cultural Studies
- Intercultural Studies
- Linguistic Studies
- Science Studies and Studies in Ethics and Legal Theory
In addition to their enrolment at the doctoral school and their registration with one of the four PhD programmes, PhD students will typically be affiliated with one or more research groups, in which the department research has been organised across disciplines. These groups offer PhD students a range of opportunities, including the opportunity to present their projects, be involved in major research projects and generally participate in the peer community surrounding guest lectures, seminars, conferences, etc.
