Participatory workshops

The term participatory inquiry workshop has been used in participatory action research about fora formed with the aim of developing theoretically founded, open, and experimental ways of thinking in relation to concrete societal problems.

Participatory research affiliation, project support, and project development

The participatory inquiry workshops try to establish a space for critical thinking in a broader social and societal arena. The model of a participatory workshop implicates suspending the common institutional horizon, becoming more sensitive to conflict of interests, and more robust in relation to conflictual directions of action.
In recent years the participatory research workshops have been developed to facilitate the employees at University Colleges as a part of the formal research affiliation. The participatory workshops frame VELPRO’s research-based support relating to both smaller research and development activities, as well as to underpin employees working with research and innovation who need a continuing forum for coaching dialogue and opponance from other participants engaged in development and research. The aim of the workshops is to ensure a theory-based dialogue on projects, activities, and products which aims for continuous development of professional competencies.
