Soft and biomolecular matter
The research programme in Soft and biomolecular matter is based in Department of Science, Systems and Models and is collaborating with several other universities and research institutions in the Greater Copenhagen area.
The PhD programme has as its goal to train students with a master’s degree in relevant fields to become researchers in an area within the broad field of soft and biomolecular matter. These goals are reached through individual research projects and participation in a number of courses covering various theoretical and experimental aspects of soft materials.
Dynamics and structures of polymer molecules
Gel-forming synthetic and biological systems
Thermo-dynamical analysis of complex systems
Structural studies of biological systems
Structural studies of ordered systems by polarised spectroscopy
Statistical mechanical analysis of driven diffusive systems
Computer simulations of chemical reactions
Thermo-mechanical properties of viscous liquids
Frequency-dependent properties of systems near the glass transition
Development of new instrumentation for studies of soft materials
Computer simulations of relaxation phenomena in extremely disordered systems
Development of theories for the dynamics of viscous liquids
Small angle X-ray scattering on systems, block copolymers, micro emulsions and biological systems
The program organises a Ph.D. course every second year titled: "Methods in soft materials
science". Next time in the autumn of 2012.
