About the programme:

The PhD program Business and Management is one of three PhD programs in the Department of Communication, Business and Information technology (CBIT). Associate Professor Søren Sommer Jagd is head of the program. Its central aim is to plan and undertake PhD education in the areas of: strategic management and leadership, organisation of business, innovation and technical development, service and tourism as social, economical and cultural phenomena.

The PhD program Business and Management runs a monthly Research Seminar (first Wednesday of each month) as a venue for presenting current research for staff and PhD students involved in the two research groups that make up the management staff at CBIT. The number of PhD students in the program ranges between 5-7. A number of visiting professors from countries such as Finland, the Netherlands, USA, UK, Spain and France have given lectures and supervision in the program. Presently, a major research program (ICE at http://www.ice-project.dk/) on user-driven service innovation funded by the Strategic Research Council of Denmark is carried out by senior staff in the program.

The PhD program is part of the Doctoral program in Organization and Management Education (DOME at http://www.asb.dk/en/aboutus/departments/departmentofmanagement/dome/) which is a collaboration between research environments focusing on organization and management theory at Roskilde University, University of Southern Denmark, University of Aarhus, Aarhus School of Business and Aalborg University. The program is funded by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation and the five universities participating in the program.  It is mainly dealing with the organization of PhD courses on theory of organization and management at the organizational micro level, with an emphasis on the behavior-related aspects. The program focuses on knowledge in organizations, innovation and entrepreneurship, and design and management of organizations.
