Jørgen Bloch-Poulsen will defend his Ph.D. dissertation:
A contribution to the concept of dialogue in Scandinavian organizational action research - dialogue as multiple tensionality.

The thesis as a whole is a discussion of my contribution to a theory of dialogue in organizational action research. The overall purpose is to show how dialogue can be understood as a meeting between humans in multi-tensional conversations with a special quality characterized by share, dare, and care in an organizational context. To which degree and eventually how, and with which tensions can a dialogue unfold between the participating groups of professionals – managers, employees, and actions researchers - about the goal or direction, the design, the validation of results as well as the communication of results of an action research process? Are co-production, co-designing, co-validating, and co-authorship hot air or …? How do you as an action researcher deal with the messy tensions between, e.g., the logic of production and the logic of development, episteme and fronesis, a philosophical (Buber, Bohm, Gadamer, etc.) and an organizational, empirically developed or practice based dialogue concept, etc.? What are the possibilities for a dialogic dissensus approach within an organizational setting?
