Admission procedure and deadline

There are three ways of applying for admission to the Full Degree Undergraduate programmes - either through "quota 1", "quota 2" or "quota 3" (exclusively for non-EU applicants who need to apply for a residence permit to study in Denmark).

You can find information about the three quotas through these links:

Application form and admission area number

As of 2013, all applicants must apply online to RUC via www.optagelse.dk. The digital application system is for quota 1, quota 2 and quota 3 applications, and is available in early February each year.

The site above has a guide on how to use the digital application system. Please read the guide thoroughly before you fill in the application form.

If you have a Danish CPR number, then you will need to send your application by using NemID or Digital signature. A digital application made with use of NemID or Digital signature is received in time, if the application is approved by the applicant on www.optagelse.dk before the application deadline. Roskilde University does not receive the application before it is approved.

When you apply without a Danish CPR number, you need to approve your application choices, print a signature page, sign it and send it to Roskilde University. It is the date and time that the signature page reaches Roskilde University that decides whether or not the application has been received within the application deadline and not the date when the application was filled out online.

On the application form the bachelor programmes are listed with their Danish titles.

To apply for the International Bachelor Study Programme in Natural Science, you should apply for: Naturvidenskabelig International Bacheloruddannelse, admission area number 16015.

To apply for the International Bachelor Study Programme in Humanities, you should apply for: Humanistisk International Bacheloruddannelse, admission area number 16025.

To apply for the International Bachelor Study Programme in Social Science, you should apply for: Samfundsvidenskabelig International Bacheloruddannelse, admission area number 16035.

Deadlines

Applicants with an international examination must apply before March 15 in the year of enrolment (quota 1, quota 2 and quota 3).

For applicants with a Danish entrance examination (stx, hhx, htx, hf or GIF) it is also possible to apply via quota 1 until July 5 in the year of enrolment.

Applicants in quota 1 and 2 will be notified of whether they have been admitted or not by July 30 at the latest.

Applicants in quota 3 will be notified of whether they have been admitted or not by June 1 at the latest.

Vacant study places are announced on July 30. Only quota 1 applicants (applicants with a Danish or EU entrance examination) can apply for vacant study places. Information about the application procedure and deadline is available from July 30.

Documentation

Both quota 1-, quota 2- and quota 3-applicants must document all qualifications (educational as well as general) by uploading orginal documents or certified copies of the original documents in the original language. This means that each individual copy must carry a statement that the copy corresponds with the original.

Documents can be certified by the school/authority that issued the original document, a Danish authority, your embassy in Denmark or the Danish embassy in the country of origin.

The document must include the names, addresses and date of both the signatory and the school/authority.

If the documents are not in English, German, Norwegian or Swedish, they must be accompanied by officially translated and certified translations. Otherwise the documents will not be accepted.

You are to upload the required documentation to your online application at www.optagelse.dk/
