The Interreg IV A project” An exemplary knowledge region” is a crossborder collaboration between Malmö University and Roskilde University. The aim of the project is to develop three knowledge fields, which focus on both research and education. 

Three different themes
The knowledge fields are divided into three different themes, “Communication and Development for Social Change”, Europeanization and Globalization” and “Meaning and Diversity”. The method to develop these knowledge fields is to organize researchdriven activities coherently and progressively, and to involve students and external stakeholders for instance NGO:s and GO:s, in those activities.

Seminar series enhance the integration
On a concrete level the projects main focus is on long term seminar series that ends with publications, and educational cooperation. It's our opinion that the return of seminars arranged alternating on both universities can attract and retain more students and external stakeholders. It's our goal that these groups will follow the seminar series from start to finish. Therefore, the seminar series, in combination with educational cooperation, is the project's contribution to how to enhance the integration in the Oresund region. Specifically by increasing mobility and create forums for knowledge sharing among different groups that both work and study in the region. 

New knowledge helps the Oresunds region
In addition to that the three fields will add value by increasing knowledge about the Oresund region, both internally with focus on the regions inner life as a crossborder region in Europe, and also external by position the region international. Finally, the three knowledgefields which will generate new knowledge about EU, globalization, communication and development countries and integration & migration, will be a complement to the existing cross-border platforms for science and technology. This new knowledge is also an added value in the Oresundregion.
