Europeanization and Globalization is a partnership established between the Department for Society and Globalization, RU, the Department of Culture and Identity, RU, and the Faculty of Culture and Society (with the departments of Global Political Studies and Language, Culture and Society) at MAH.

Focus on the Oresund area
This field of knowledge will focus on the inner life of the Oresund area and the international position of the region. The purpose with this cooperation is to focus on the processes (Europeanization and Globalization) that creates pressure for change both locally, regionally, nationally and supranational and what impact these processes will have on these different levels.

International expertise
Within the theme there will be a focused examination of issues and themes within these processes that pertain to the cross-border region, and the two nations per se. Researchers from the Danish and Swedish academia will make up the backbone of this field of knowledge. In addition to this, international expertise will be included into the collaboration, to discuss issues from a global perspective. This group of researchers and expertise will build dynamic intellectual milieu that will examine and discuss problems and challenges that the global structural changes bring about nationally, (cross-) regionally and locally.

Seminars and joint courses
When the seminar series is completed, the proceedings of the seminars will be edited and published in an international volume. Beside these seminars this particular part of the cooperation will also produce joint courses for students at the master’s level. The purpose is to build a cross-border field of knowledge in the Oresund region and also establish networks with similar research and border regions in Europe.
