This project examines how sexual education, organized by Sex & Samfund’s young-to-younger-method is experienced by young people. This has been investigated from the understanding that, young-to-younger is a variation of the general idea of the young-to-young-method, used by different organizations. This understanding has given us a significantly greater theoretical foundation, as we were able to use the understandings of different organizations. In this thesis, young-to-young is viewed as an educational technology. Through a focus group interview and an observation revolving a 7th grade, we attempt to clarify and investigate the instruments that play a part in the perceivement of this education. Interesting statements and contradictions regarding the experience will be positioned against one another and then processed corresponding with Bente Halkier. The given instruments within young-to-young will be subjected to an investigation regarding how they affect the participants of the course. Science studies will play a large part throughout the thesis and concerns regarding these. These instruments are reviewed in a scientific study and analytic perspective, on grounds laid by Bente Halkier, Steinar Kvale & Svend Brinkmann and Richard Jenkins.

This paper examines the opportunities of including the visually impaired in society. According to FN´s handicap convention, everybody should be able to get around and get information on the same terms. In order of this we have designed a route on Vesterbro in Copenhagen with information about the surroundings which can be accessed via an APP for smart phones. In our work we have focused on how to translate visually impressions into words and tactile information.

- Hvordan opstod betonbyggeriet?

Our paper addresses the problem of the physical surroundings and appearance of a socially deprived area. We have chosen Tåstrupgård in Taastrup, as our case, in which we will improve the environment by creating opportunities for aesthetic experiences. Socially deprived environments are often worn down and radiate negative values. Our purpose is to alter the environment by improving the general aesthetic properties and values in Tåstrupgård.

International tests of European schools, such as the PISA-test, revealed Denmark to be lagging behind other Scandinavian countries. This problem can be solved by improving Danish elementary school students' scholastic skills by increasing their independent learning abilities and competences and understanding of their own learning, how it takes place, and how best to optimize it...

We have produced an explorative report, in which we through focus group interviews, design theory and our own hypotheses have investigated what design possibilities and challenges arise, in the process of designing a publicly accessible and interactive Cityportal. Unipolar depression is estimated by WHO to become the largest burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries in 2030. This project assumes there is a need for alternative solutions for the treatment of patients with mental disorders in the Republic of Burundi. We examine the barriers and opportunities that exist in the use of different modalities, using telepsychiatry in a country like Burundi. To overcome the methodological issue - distance from the field- it is investigated and concluded that the interconnection of the first-person perspective as a design theoretical approach, and scenarios as a design method can be used. Furthermore there are fundamental differences in opportunities and barriers arising from the use of different modalities, i.e. whether there is a synchronous or asynchronous communication.

This project is about the elderly and a political strategy to fully digitize the public service system by 2015. We specify what an elderly person is in Denmark and how the digital strategy of the public service system will effect them. Our basic empiric data is based on interviews and observations and will be analyzed with three different theoretical perspectives. We use some of Pierre Bourdieu, Anthony Giddens and Frank W. Geels theories as our strategy of analysis ... We can the conclude that the digital strategy of the public service system will only effect the elderly if they do not know how to use a computer by 2015. Even by 2015 some citizens will be able to contact the public service system in a face-to-face situation but that is to be specified by what the local politicians decide as course of action.

In this paper we analyze how great an impact aesthetic appreciation and functional beauty have in everyday life, as we often perceive a distinction between function and the aesthetic aspects of an industrial product. This assignment will therefore contain an exposition of two subjects; aesthetic properties and functional beauty. We will first categorize functional beauty as an aesthetic quality and then focus on the aesthetic experience of an everyday artifact. We will use theories in our research from philosophers such as Beardsley and Dewey, among others ...We will – in light of this theory - redesign the insulin pen, as well as the equipment used by diabetics for their daily treatment. Our purpose is to give the insulin pen a new identity so it no longer resembles a ballpoint pen.

This project is a theoretical presentation, of how the subject is affected in the urban space of the city. This project takes upon a wide perspective, of how different elements create the modern city. Subsequent the field of research narrows down and focus on the subjects encounter with the materiality of the city. Through expositions and analyses of; David Cooper, Kristine Samson, Zygmunt Bauman, Dag Østerberg and Kristoffer Lindhart Weiss the relationships and conflicts that arise between the subject and the urban space are discussed.

The project is focusing on persuasive technology and how small issues conflicts in Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup. With acceptance from Copenhagen Airport we are trying to show some interesting design issues between humans and design, and how it effect nuanced human flow.

This study examines how the use of telemedication, influences the health of it’s users. In the study we work with an phenomenological understanding of the term “health”, and is based on A. Antonovsky's work on health. We examine the matter of telemedication and health, through theory of human-technology interactions, theory of health and theory of subjectivity and society.

This study examines the spread of personalized content on the internet, and how to create awareness about it, through an information campaign. In the study we see that the amount of personalized content is increasing. According to critics this is problematic in proportion to the democracy but studies shows that this is not the case today. Even though, the development might become dangerous for the democracy in the future.

This study examines the collaborative work on Slagelse emergency ward with a specific focus on their use of the IT-system, IMATIS. The objective of the study is to understand how the system is incorporated in the wards working procedure, as well as what might be potential barriers and opportunities for their practice of the system.

With a diary-study, an online survey, a focus-group and an extensive interview with a taxi driver we aimed to research and discuss the changes that are becoming evident in our everyday life since the occurrence of smartphones. We concentrate our study to the effects of travel aiding technologies such as GPS and interactive maps present in smartphones, on our everyday life, travel routines and our relationship with this technology.

This study examines the correlation between identity and the use of Facebook. When creating a profile on Facebook, the user is met with a series of choices. Among these are the profile pictures, status updates and so forth. Depending on how the user chooses to interact with Facebook, a picture of his identity is painted. This picture is basically how the user’s Facebook friends perceive the user.

This thesis comments on the film media’s ability to disseminate academic knowledge. It is based on a comparative analysis on two chosen documentaries. In the context of those it discusses the potentials and challenges involved in the field of visual knowledge dissemination. The thesis is a result of our curiosity concerning a field that exist between the world of arts and the world of academic science. During our discussion we will examine the question of the genre’s credibility received by the audience and also the legitimacy of of its documentary value.

This project deals with the different elements making the urban environment efficient and creating life. In this report, we focus on the paradox between two urban spaces in possession of the same physical conditions for efficiency, yet working differently. We have been dealing with the issue through collected empirical knowledge from our two cases in Copenhagen, Vesterbros Torv and Sankt Hans Torv. Furthermore, we have analysed which differences in similarity of the two places contribute to the differences in use of and life in our specific locations.

In this project, our primary work is based on filterbubbles as a phenomenon. We discuss and challenge Eli Parisers one-sided presentation of personalized search results, including which role this has for search of information. We vary the analysis and discussion, by including Lars Qvortrups theory about ‘Det hyperkomplekse samfund’, and with caseanalysis of Google and Stumbleupon as services to find information....

This project researches how cities can facilitate urban transformation, in order to attract the creative class, as defined by Richard Florida. This is research is partly done by a case-study, in which we research the project urban transformation project ”Musicon” which is located in the municipality of Roskilde. In the case study it is revealed, that even though the right frame is set up, where the companies and citizens are able to transform the urban area to their liking, it is still necessary for the local authorities to ensure that the urban transformation actually happens.

kreativitetens højbord

This project is a case study of Roskilde Municipality’s city reconstitution, Musicon, where event economy based on Richard Florida’s theory on the creative class is explored. Musicon is especially relevant as it is a current and ongoing process and has been one since 2007. In this project, strengths and weaknesses of the current process of city development will be put forward, and focus is kept on the challenges regarding the adaption of Florida’s theory to Danish conditions to create a creative center in Denmark.

This project is a study of how it is possible to change one of the city’s vacuum to an urban space. By working with a case on Østbanegade, we show how a temporary design-related intervention can alter the users’ perception of the place, and thereby change the identity of the place. With Edward Relph’s theory of Place and Placelessness and empirical data in the form of interviews and observations, we discover how users relate to the case. We use theories of Jan Gehl and Olafur Eliasson to design a temporary urban space that centers around people and their perception of the surroundings...

The following paper deals with the phenomenon of ”planned obsolescence” and particularly the appertaining paradox concerning the desire to create economic growth as opposed to the sustaining of a healthy and sound environment. With a sustained environment as a point of departure, the emphasis of this paper will in particular be focused on the resource –and waste disposal problems derived from the effects of planned obsolescence. We will furthermore seek to investigate and clarify whether the approach known as the “Cradle to Cradle Strategy” can assist and help overcome the profound set of problems associated with planned obsolescence...

This paper therefore examines how you can get the young depressive men to the doctor in time using an information campaign...

Ørestad is a newer district still undergoing development. The district is highly discussed in the media and both architects and town planners have criticized the idea about Ørestad, partly because of the late public participation and the district’s lack of public-oriented activities. This project seeks to comply with this criticism, by examining how the temporary use of urban space can be used as a strategic tool in the development and planning context...

Organ donation provides opportunity to save lives by transplanting organs from people that have been declared brain dead, to people whose organs fail to function properly. It is thought to be morally right to save people’s lives. In several countries, such as Denmark, people need to register for organ donation if they want to be donors. Although according to surveys the majority of people in Denmark want to be organ donors, most of these people fail to register due to various reasons. Other countries use a system called “presumed consent” or “opt-out”. In this system everyone are organ donors by default. By implementing this system there may be more potential donors and thereby more potential organs. With more organs available it might be possible to save more lives. With this system those who want to be organ donors, but normally would fail to register, will automatically become donors. People that are against organ donation, or have other reason for not wanting to be an organ donor, have to manually opt out. People who fail to opt out therefore might become organ donors even though it is actually against their will. This has started an ethical discussion about the government presuming consent without requiring people to actually position them.
