The main purpose of the workshop is to strengthen our ability to write academic papers. Lecturing will be inter-active. The workshop will also be based on your own active participation in analysing good and bad examples of academic texts as well as discussions of the participants’ own work. We will discuss different elements of journal articles, namely abstract, introduction, format and other elements. We will also discuss plagiarism. The workshop will focus on academic writing in English, but we will not go into English language style, grammar or vocabulary. The focus will be on how to compose a text.

 In order to participate in the workshop, you must:

• Read the circulated paper (we will do a peer review of it)
• Bring a 200 word abstract of an article/paper/chapter you have or are writing (bring 3 paper copies + a copy in Word on a USB stick).
